Description
Avanafil is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It belongs to a group of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors, the same class as:
- Sildenafil
- Tadalafil
- Vardenafil
How it works
Avanafil increases blood flow to the penis by enhancing the effects of nitric oxide, helping a man achieve and maintain an erection when sexually stimulated. It does not cause an automatic erection and requires sexual arousal to work.
Key features
- Often starts working in 15–30 minutes, making it one of the faster-acting ED medications.
- Effects typically last up to about 6 hours.
- Can be taken with or without food, though a very heavy meal may delay its effect.
